Sustainability?

Q: Why is sustainability such an important part?

A: It is true that paraffin is the most common wax. The most cheap. The best at holding fragrance. And it is for these reasons that most of your favourite candle brands are using it. 

But we always wanted there to be a congruence between what we think and what we do. We couldn't just be thinking that we wanted to create a clean and safe home goods brand, and not be doing it.

It's just not LeftBrain.

When you are starting a small candle business, or any small business really; these are the most important things to consider: Availability. Price. Quality.

If you think within these parameters, paraffin wax comes out on top.

But at what cost? If people knew they were bringing home a product that created a carcinogenic smoke that polluted your home, would your home still feel "home-y"? And if we followed suit, what kind of home would we be inviting our customers to create? It is an honour for our fragrances to fill someone's space; and we think a good product should help elevate it. 

So that is what we will do.
